RIELE was founded by Robert Riele and his nephew, Otto Riele, as a wholesale business for hospital and laboratory equipment in East Berlin

31 December 1949

Final move of the corporate centre to Hermsdorf in West Berlin

1952

Beginning of the production of optical, mechanical devices, e.g. Photometers for clinical-chemical analyses

1966

Introduction of MK 2, MK 3, in Germany very popular and successful

1970

First Photometers with digital display in Germany:
MK 40, MK 45, MK 50, MK 55

Death of Robert Riele

1971

Wolfgang Riele, son of Otto Riele, becomes a limited partner and starts his study of electrical engineering in Berlin

1 January 1977

Wolfgang Riele becomes a member of the management

Start of supplying Boehringer Mannheim GmbH with Photometers

Photometer 4010, soon distributed all over the world
